Crystal of Atlan stands as an immersive action role-playing game, seamlessly integrating elements of combat, character development, career design, and more.

 

Set in the fictional floating realm of "Atalan," adorned with scenes featuring airships, gears, machinery, and more, the game weaves a tapestry of scientific fantasy in the unique artistic style known as "magical punk." Central to the gameplay is the exploration of the miniature garden, offering a captivating setting for players.

Combat, a cornerstone of the gameplay, boasts a comprehensive feedback system, featuring sound prompts and combat effects such as "flying" and "dodging."

 

Players can unlock up to 10 skills throughout the game, enhancing the richness of the gaming experience. The game presents five distinct professions for players to choose from — "Swordsman," "Magician," "Musketeer," "Magician," and "Fighter" — each offering unique gameplay styles and skills. It's important to note that profession selection is permanent after players make their choice.

Star Breaker

I played a significant role in creating this character —— Star breaker, who serves as the protagonist of the game.

 

Leading up to its release, this character garnered immense anticipation from players and was highly anticipated within the gaming community.

 

With this profession arrival, players can anticipate an exhilarating and immersive experience, characterized by a profound sense of impact and an extensive array of combat-style maneuvers.

Character Design

The primary objective in the character design was to depict a formidable female boxer.

Red was chosen as the dominant color theme to convey her fierce and combative nature, further enhancing her overall persona.

The character's default short hairstyle enhances their cool appearance.

The character's leather clothes and metal gloves create a punk aesthetic, further enhancing their cool image.

Skill Design

*Star Breaker skill demonstrate Video

In the game, players control a character with five skill keys.

 

Four of these keys are dedicated to small skills, while one is assigned to the powerful 'awakening' skill.

 

Unlike other games, players have the ability to carry up to 10 skills, including 8 small skills and 2 'awakening' skills.

 

Each key is bound to two skills, with the second skill activating when the first skill is on cooldown. Once the first skill's cooldown is complete, the player will prioritize its release.

Players are allowed to carry a wide array of skills in Star Breaker, reducing the overall difficulty of the game.

 

Rather than relying on basic attacks, players must master skill usage in combat

With 16 active skills, including three awakening skills, players learn three skills plus an "awakening" skill upon creating a character.

 

Throughout the journey from level 1 to the maximum level of 60, players will learn 10 active skills and 2 awakening skills, averaging one skill every five levels in alignment with the game's progression.

In addition to active skills, players also possess passive skills, with "Melting" serving as the core for this character. Successful skill usage and evasions increase the "Melting" value, which is used to boost the number of attacks when the player releases a skill.

 

This design aims to provide depth for player manipulation, while allowing casual players to enjoy the game by triggering the "Melting" effect with ease. Meanwhile, experienced players can tactically combine skill releases for maximum output.

Fighter Mentor :West

Character Design

This character plays the role of mentor to the player's novice character, Fighter.

 

Players must defeat this character to progress and become a Star Breaker.

 

In terms of setting, this character is a youthful arena manager, embodying a mix of recklessness and cunning.

 

The character's color scheme predominantly features purple, complemented by gold chains and boxing gloves, evoking an 'antagonist' vibe for players

AI Design

When designing the character and configuring the AI, I adhered to the following principles:

 

1:The character's skills should be related to fighters, ideally with a connection to Star Breaker as they serve as the mentor for the Fighter character.

2:When facing this character in battle, it should serve as a test of the player's mastery of the Fighter character and act as a tutorial on how to utilize Star Breaker's skills.

3:The difficulty level should be moderate, as the outcome of this battle does not significantly impact game progression. The primary focus is to guide the player in using their in-game character, rather than presenting excessive challenge.
